Brad Pitt sets new hearts aflutter in Winnipeg
Canadian Press
WINNIPEG — Oscar-nominated actor Brad Pitt was setting new hearts aflutter Monday as filming for his latest movie moved out of Alberta and into the Manitoba capital.
Three professional women said they were sent into a hyperventilating tizzy when the Hollywood hunk dazzled them from the Winnipeg street below their office.
Pitt was standing on Notre Dame Avenue in period costume as Jesse James and chatting with members of the production team.
The women, staff at a market research firm, knocked on a window, caught the star's attention and waved.
He smiled and waved back.
"We screamed like 12-year-olds,'' confessed field operations manager Susan Smiel, 46.
"I felt my heart stop. Honestly, it was one of the best moments of my life,'' laughed 43-year-old company president Katherine Devine.
"Finally Brad and I have met . . . I wanted to cry, he looked so beautiful.''
The women said he seemed personable and down-to-earth as they watched him interact with cast and crew.
They also said he showed a soft side by "goo-gooing'' with a baby being carried by a behind-the-scenes woman.
"He seemed to be very engaged with the people,'' said research associate Karine Levasseur, 31.
One turnoff, though, was his smoke breaks.
"He should stop that. It will age him,'' was Smiel's advice.
Pitt is filming The Assassination of Jesse James. He already caused a stir in Alberta - appearing at West Edmonton Mall and grocery shopping at a Safeway store with his alleged paramour Angelina Jolie - where he was shooting at Fort Edmonton Park and in the Calgary area.
