I’m sure most of you know about president Bush vetoing the bill that will leave 10 million children without healthcare. If you don’t already, here’s a way to find out, and a link to a petition to help overturn it: gloob.tv/life/kids_dont_know_bush_hates_them?article=1976 I thought this video was really well done, I teach after school care and all the kids there (1st-3rd grade) are the same way as these kids – they don’t distinguish much between Bush, Mr. Rogers or anyone else old, male, and white on TV. He’s an entertainment figure for them. I guess he is for me too…

There are many reasons why bush vetoed that plan. As bush trys to press plans through congress and they do not get accepted neither will the plans iniated by congress, Unfortunally not even kids are safe from the cold reality of bi-partanship. Of course one man seems to be the badguy but many should be blamed. The Program gives coverage to parents who make too much to qualify for medicaid but not enough to buy private insurance for their children. Critics of this bill say that parents who have private coverage for their children might be prompted to drop it for cheaper coverage under this program.
